Reach and Rohs
Quality and Regulations
The policy on quality is an important part of our business policy. High quality services are important to Conex Holland b.v., as are the continuous improvements to the quality of its services and internal processes. In addition, the choice of materials is important. In this context, there are several directives and regulations within the EU.
EU directive for chemical elements REACH (EU) No. 1907/2006
REACH is the European chemicals legislation regarding the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & Restriction of Chemicals. As Conex Holland b.v. neither produces these, nor imports them into the EU, it is classified by REACH as a so-called ‘downstream user’. This means the REACH regulations pertaining to the registration obligation do not apply directly to Conex as a manufacturer of wire connectors. Nevertheless, we have informed all our suppliers about REACH and we have requested them to meet all their obligations pursuant to the regulations, including the obligation to register.
EU Directive for the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances RoHS (EU) No. 2011/65/EU
TheThe RoHS (Restriction of use of certain Hazardous Substances) is a European directive to restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The substances stipulated in the directive can only be present in electrical and electronic equipment if they remain below a certain concentration (weight percentage) of the below mentioned homogeneous substances: · Lead (0.1%) · Mercury (0.1%) · Cadmium (0.01%) Hexavalent chromium (0.1%) Polybrominated biphenyl (PBB’s) (0.1%) · Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE’s) (0.1%) Conex Holland b.v. only processes semi-finished products which, according to our suppliers meet, as far as they are able to verify, the RoHS directives.
